Glass Filled PTFE Rods are very commonly used in valve seat applications. Increased compressive strength and creep resistance of the material allow much greater pressure on the valve seat and as such a much higher rated valve. These rods are made from basically a PTFE material reinforced with 15% glass fiber. These rods are ideal for various complex industrial applications due to their reinforced composition. Glass Filled PTFE Rodscan operate at the same temperature range as virgin PTFE and is similarly chemically inert. Adding glass to PTFE makes it stronger and more durable, as well as reducing flexibility and likelihood of creep. This PTFE material reduces the material's tendency to creep as well as its porosity.
